General Manager, Clinical Research
Alex leads Flatiron’s Clinical Research business unit, helping sponsors and research sites design better studies, broaden access to and representativeness of clinical trials, accelerate timelines, and reduce the operational burden usually associated with clinical research. Alex has over 15 years of experience working with oncology-focused pharmaceutical and biotech companies to address a wide range of strategic and operational challenges. He has a bachelor of science in biological engineering and a master of engineering in biomedical engineering from Cornell University.
Head of Commercial Solutions and Partnerships
Craig is the Head of Commercial Solutions and Partnerships for Flatiron’s Clinical Research business unit, where he is accountable for sales, business development, partnerships, and related activities for the clinical research team. Craig was previously the Global Head, Strategy and Innovation for Data Operations at Novartis and has held senior leadership roles at IQVIA and Pfizer, as well as served in a multi-faceted executive role at a niche CRO (DSP Clinical). Craig is recognized industry leader and was named Pharmaceutical Executive's "2020 Emerging Pharma Leaders" and PharmaVOICE “100 Most Inspiring People” for both 2017 and 2020. Craig earned a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University, an MBA in Management and an MS in Information Systems from Fordham University, and an MS in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University.
Head of Clinical Research Growth Strategy
Hugh leads growth strategy for Flatiron’s Clinical Research business unit, helping to identify future investment and partnership opportunities. Hugh has over 20 years of dedicated experience in clinical trial design and operations and has developed multiple market-leading, trial-related technologies. Hugh holds a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the RAND Graduate School and has also received master’s degrees in international economics and international relations from SAIS at Johns Hopkins University and international politics from Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
Senior Director, Product Management
Lauren leads the strategy and design of products for Flatiron’s Clinical Research business unit. Lauren creates products for biopharma sponsors, CROs, and clinical research sites, ensuring technical stability, interoperability, and technology designed to support new working models. Lauren has over a decade of experience in the clinical research industry, is a published thought leader, and frequently speaks at clinical research events. Lauren graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel hill with a BS in Biology and from North Carolina State University with a Master of Business Administration.
Senior Manager, Product Management
Nathan C. is a Senior Product Manager who has experience developing healthcare technology products, from electronic health records to clinical research digital products. With a background in software engineering, Nathan works closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, data scientists and clinicians to deeply understand customer problems and develop innovative solutions. Nathan holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Associate Principal, Clinical Research Partnerships
Nathan H. is an Associate Principal on the Clinical Research Partnerships team, establishing data and technology partnerships with large biopharma organizations to bridge the technology gap between clinical research and routine care. Nathan is passionate about clinical research innovation to reduce the time and costs associated with oncology drug development and increase access to clinical trials as treatment options for sites and patients. Before Flatiron, Nathan worked to develop and commercialize the first Just-In-Time research system at Pharmatech, Inc. and Caris Life Sciences. Nathan has a BS in Biology from Denison University.
Manager, Business Development
Eric Schultz is a Manager on the Clinical Research Business Development Team where he works with sponsors and CROs to design and execute more efficient trials. Eric has a decade of experience partnering with companies to understand and develop solutions that best fit their operational challenges. Prior to Flatiron, Eric worked at Transperfect for nearly 8 years, where he was a business development leader in the San Francisco office. Eric has a BA in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Principal, Business Development
Temitope (Tope) Keyes is a Principal on the Clinical Research Business Development team, working with sponsors on solutions to their clinical development challenges by leveraging Flatiron's industry leading technologies for clinical trials. Tope brings 24 years of clinical R&D experience and has a passion for technology and its ability to advance vital clinical research and successful trial execution. Her experience includes pre-clinical purchasing and clinical outsourcing roles at AstraZeneca and Sanofi, followed by almost 18 years in business development with the likes of ERT (Clario), Synteract, Datatrak, and Axiom Real-Time Metrics, and Cmed Technology (Aixial). Tope graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Sociology and Health and Medicine.
Principal, Alliance Partnerships
Mitch Bayer is a Principal on the Alliance Partnerships team, bringing over 25 years of diverse experience spanning healthcare and clinical research technology. His healthcare career began by founding ViCARE, a home infusion therapy provider specializing in chemotherapy, successfully sold to oncology focused Salick Health Care. After national sales roles in medical/vocational rehabilitation, Mitch transitioned to manage PT, OT, and Speech clinics for the outpatient rehab unit of the renowned Kessler Institute before entering the world of clinical technology solutions with Medidata, commercializing the industry’s first formal CRO partner program. While running commercialization at AiCure he developed a unique subscription CRO model before assuming alliance partnerships leadership at ActiGraph and physIQ. Mitch holds a BS from Villanova University and an MBA from Temple University.
